Huawei E620/E630 Data Card Quick Start Guide
You can use the software CD provided, but it is out of date and network
specific so it is not as easy to run on other mobile networks. So for Windows XP I strongly suggest you do
the following:
- Download,
unzip the Mobile Partner software for windows here and run the
setup.exe file.
- Insert your sim into the Data card.
- Insert Data
card into laptop.
- Run Mobile
Partner software.
- Goto Tools, Options, Profile Management.
- Then new
profile, edit and insert APN, username and password:
For T-Mobile UK:
username- user
password – pass
APN – general.t-mobile.uk
Or for the UK network 3:
APN- three.co.uk
The settings for other networks in the world can be found on Ross Barkman's GPRS website here.
Once
you have entered the settings for the profile you have created you
need to save it.
Then
make sure that profile is selected and press the connect button.
You
should now have internet access and usually you are greeted by the
networks homepage telling how much it costs to browse.
Trouble shooting:
- Sometimes
other mobile connect managers installed on the computer can interfere
with this software so it is best to uninstall previous installations
(In Microsoft XP,Control panel, add/remove programmes).
- If you get a network signal but are unable to connect recheck and check again your networks settings (APN, password etc).
- Have you got good network reception?
- Make sure your sim is enabled for data calls (check with your network provider).
- Still
having problems try a google search for this type of card, your
computer OS and perhaps your network. If still no luck contact me with
the above info and we will try and sort it out.
